Frequently Asked Questions
How long do breast implants last?
Breast implants are not lifetime devices. Many patients enjoy their implants for 10 to 15 years or longer without complications. Regular checkups and occasional imaging tests (like an MRI) can help monitor the integrity of the implants.
Will I have visible scars?
All surgery leaves some scarring, but we carefully plan incision locations to make scars as discreet as possible. Over time, scars usually fade significantly and become barely noticeable.
Can I breastfeed after breast augmentation?
Most women can breastfeed after getting implants, especially if the incisions are made in the inframammary fold or armpit. However, there is a slight risk of affecting milk production if an incision is made around the areola.
When can I return to work or exercise?
It depends on the nature of your job and your body’s healing process. Many patients return to non-physical work within a week or two. Strenuous exercises or heavy lifting should be avoided for about four to six weeks or until cleared by your surgeon.
Is breast augmentation safe?
When performed by a qualified surgeon, breast augmentation is generally safe. As with any surgery, there are risks such as infection, bleeding, or complications with anesthesia. We’ll discuss these in detail and ensure you’re well-prepared before moving forward.
