Patients in the Seattle area look to board-certified cosmetic surgeons, like Dr. Jonov, to achieve a rounder, shapelier gluteal region through a Brazilian butt lift. A Brazilian butt lift is a cosmetic procedure that uses liposuction to transfer fat from one area of the patient’s body, and injects it into the butt. The ideal candidates for this procedure are patients who have a flat and deflated rear end following weight loss and aging. If patients have loose skin, a surgical butt lift with implants may be their best option.
During the initial consultation, our surgeon will assess the body so that they can determine where to perform liposuction to extract the necessary amount of fat needed to perform the transfer. They may consider multiple donor sites. Our surgeon will, first, remove the fat and graft it for a healthy, effective transfer. Next, it will be injected using a syringe into the gluteal region. This process takes place over several steps, and many layers used until the desired result is achieved. Finally, the incisions from a Brazilian butt lift are very small and thus scarring after the procedure is minimal.
Bumpy Appearance?
If the injections are done correctly, the result will look and feel natural. During the procedure, additional liposuction may be used to help smooth out uneven skin, as well as ensure that the surface has a correct and even contour. Therefore, it is important to find a reputable and highly-skilled surgeon with a special expertise in performing the Brazilian butt lift surgery.
Non-surgical or non-invasive procedures such as Renuvion skin tightening can help avoid bumpiness following fat transfer and lipo.
Fat Transfer or Implants?
Cosmetic surgeons commonly use both technique and can achieve good results. Some patients simply do not want a foreign device in their body and feel that the fat transfer method is safe and natural. A disadvantage of fat transfers, however, is that they may not last as long as an implant because some of the injected fat will absorb naturally into the body.
It is important to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each technique during the consultation so you can make the right decision. Additionally, petite patients may be told they do not have enough fat for transfer, but Dr. Jonov specializes in skinny BBL techniques and non-surgical BBL techniques to help patients achieve their cosmetic goals.
Weight Gain?
Weight gain could compromise the results of the surgery. So, for the best long-term results, patients should maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine.
A Brazilian butt lift is considered an outpatient procedure and is performed under general anesthesia at an accredited surgical facility. The entire surgery typically takes about 2 hours to complete depending on how many donor sites are used and how many layers it takes to achieve the desired fullness. Following surgery, patients will experience swelling and bruising in both the fat removal areas as well as in the gluteal region. Patients will find it difficult to sit, but are encouraged to do so once the swelling has subsided. It will take about 3 full months for the body to recover and adjust to the new contour and shape.
