Frequently Asked Questions
What Is The Difference Between The Perfect Derma Peel And The VI Peel?
The VI Peel and The Perfect Derma Peel are both medium-depth treatments, meaning they cause peeling of the epidermal layer of skin and the top layer of the dermis. The treatment methods of these peels are very similar; however, there are a couple of key differences between the two.
The VI Peel contains more trichloroacetic acid (TCA), an exfoliant that may cause your skin to peel faster. This faster process may irritate the skin and cause redness, swelling, and burning.
While The Perfect Derma Peel contains TCA, it doesn’t have the same amount as the VI Peel. The Perfect Derma Peel is also the only medical-grade peel that contains glutathione, a powerful antioxidant. With the addition of glutathione, The Perfect Derma Peel may slow the signs of aging and restore a glowing skin tone.
How Long Will My Results Last?
You should see visibly improved skin seven to ten days after your chemical peel at our Bellevue clinic. These results will last as long as you practice a good skincare routine, though maintenance peels at least every six months may help rejuvenate and brighten your skin. If your skin is prone to acne or signs of aging, you may want to schedule more frequent peel treatments.
Who Is Not A Candidate For The Perfect Derma Peel?
Anyone who has skin blemishes or dull, textured skin may be a candidate for The Perfect Derma Peel. You may not be a candidate if you have skin sensitivities or conditions like eczema or psoriasis. You may also not be a candidate if you:
- Have an autoimmune disease
- Are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients
- Have any open wounds
- Have recently had other facial treatments such as waxing, laser therapy, etc.
- Are currently using or have used prescription acne treatment like Accutane in the past four months

Is The Treatment Painful?
During the initial application of the chemical peel, you may feel a slight tingling or stinging; however, phenol–an ingredient in The Perfect Derma Peel–aids in numbing the skin and preventing pain during application. Your skin may be sensitive in the days following your appointment, but this is a common condition after chemical peels. Sensitivity should resolve after a week or so.
What Should I Avoid After The Perfect Derma Peel?
Your skin will be sensitive after a chemical peel; for this reason, it’s essential to avoid anything that is overly harsh or may irritate your skin, including:
- Direct sunlight
- Strenuous exercise (jogging, swimming, etc.)
- Sweating
- High temperatures (hot showers & baths, hot yoga, saunas, etc.)
- Harsh skincare products
- Facial brushes and rough, abrasive washcloths
- Touching, rubbing, or picking your face
- Acne treatment products
