Cosmetic Injector Training, Bellevue
Most medical professionals enter the medical field because they want to help people. However, it can often feel like you only see people suffer and many may not get to see or know a patient’s outcome. What if you could continue to work in the medical field and get to see the difference you make every single day?
This is possible when considering a career as a cosmetic injector. Not only can you still treat some medical ailments such as chronic migraines, but cosmetic injectors also help patients immediately see a difference in their appearance with cosmetic treatments. The American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine offers training and certification courses for all qualified medical professionals interested in becoming a cosmetic injector.
What We Offer
- Accreditation
- Instructor Expertise
- Hands-On-Practice
- Comprehensive Support
The American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine offers two courses that offer hands-on practice and the potential for accreditation. The beginner course outlines what is necessary to know as a cosmetic injector such as facial anatomy, how Botox and fillers work, and the most basic injections. In addition, students can take full advantage of instructor expertise to get the most out of their course. The advanced course involves more advanced injection techniques and procedures and focuses on learning multiple procedures.
After an AACM course, patients can take an exam to become certified. If certified, they will have access to ongoing, comprehensive support. Our instructors continue to be there for certified students to answer questions and provide instructional support.

COURSE CURRICULUM
- Dermal Fillers: Students can expect to be introduced to the two most popular brands of hyaluronic acid filler—Restylane and Juvederm. Depending on the course, they may then learn how to inject filler with either a needle or cannula into one or more areas of the face. Possible treatment areas include the lips, cheeks, chin, under eyes, and nose. Students will also get to see live demonstrations.
- Neuromodulators (Dysport and Botox): Neuromodulator injections—often referred to as Botox injections, but not always performed with Botox—make up the foundation of aesthetic injections. Students will learn the mainstay injections and the advanced course may teach techniques for treating conditions such as migraines and TMJ.
- Others: During the advanced course, students may get to explore other types of filler not made of hyaluronic acid filler. They may also learn injection techniques for hair restoration and advanced Botox injections.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE COSMETIC INJECTOR CERTIFICATION COURSES?
- Nurse Practitioners (NPs): Nurse practitioners fill a role in the medical field that makes them especially conducive to aesthetic injection training.
- Aestheticians and RNs: Registered nurses can perform cosmetic injections in many states under the supervision of a physician (which often does not require the physician to be present for each injection). In some places, aestheticians may be able to perform basic injections and thus adding them to their existing services offers aestheticians a lucrative business opportunity.
- Physicians: Physicians of all types—including dentists—can perform cosmetic injections for both aesthetic and medical reasons. Whether they simply want to explore treatment options for a particular ailment or want to make cosmetic injections a mainstay of their practice, physicians can further expand their treatments and business through cosmetic injector training.
- Physician Assistant: Physician assistants serve an important role in the medical field and their specialized expertise allows them to offer cosmetic injections. They often can be employed under a physician, but practice otherwise independently.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of medical professionals can perform Botox?
It depends on the state and country. In the United States, physicians and physician assistants can perform these injections in all states. However, some states limit the duties of nurses and other medical professionals. Though, more states are accepting registered nurses as cosmetic injectors. Check your state’s laws.
How long does it take to get Botox certified?
Through the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine it can take as little as a weekend. However, students must pass the written and oral portions of the exam to become certified. Thus, for some students, it can take longer to become certified.
Do I need aesthetician certification before I enroll in the course?
No, an aesthetician certification is not required.
Do I need insurance to practice Botox?
If practicing under a physician, the answer is most likely no. However, if practicing independently, the answer is probably yes. Again, requirements may vary by state. Even though unlikely, things can go wrong during cosmetic injections. Therefore, insurance is often encouraged for all practitioners.
